Bangkok Shutdown

Anti-government protests have been ongoing in Thailand since October 2013, provoked by a proposed amnesty bill that would have pardoned Thai politicians Abhisit Vejjajiva, Suthep Thaugsuban over murder charges and former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The bill could have made it possible for Thaksin, brother of the current prime minister Yingluck Shinawatra, to return to Thailand after a self-imposed exile without facing a corruption conviction. Here are some pictures from yesterday's (18-1-2014) protest.
